Never had that before. All my customisations and settings are gone. Also there’s no “.plist” file. All I did was to download and open a file from this forum. What is this?
If that is the “hammer” file, it opens normally in Rhino 5 (its native format) and Rhino 8 on Windows. Unless R5 files are problematic for Macs, I’d wonder what else might have been going on contemporaneously.
No idea. Everything is gone. Awful.
I copied the “.plist” file I last saved on 7th September but that doesn’t change a thing.
Almost all settings are stored in that settings directory that you show in your first post (in xml files) and not in the plist file.
Well, the settings directory has apparently been replaced with a fresh one, so all settings and customisations are gone.
Do you have a recent time machine [to get your setting back].
hopefully they’ll find the reset bug and fix it.
it a real pain having to redo customization manually , I’ve been there [and my customizations are fairly humble]
I haven’t heard of this bug before and don’t know how to try and repeat it yet. @Lagom do you have any plug-ins installed that don’t ship with Rhino?
No plugins installed. Finished a course on Friday. Closed the laptop. Opened it today lunchtime. Downloaded a forum file attachment. Double clicked it. Rhino opens. All prior settings/customisations gone.

Is that something that you can reproduce using that workflow?

I can open my own files without a problem. When I opened that forum file, Rhino resat. I am rebuilding my settings and customisations, so I’m not eager to touch that file again ; )
