I’m honestly super gutted to find that the toolbar settings are still a nightmare in Rhino 8, even if there seems to have been attempts to improve it.
I’ve been having my osnaps and selection filters side by side for 10+ years like so:
Closing an reopening Rh8 will do this every time:
^It’s creating both menus in one with tabs again, because apparently the devs thought it must be this way.
PLEASE allow to change this behaviour again…

RH-78363 Docking: Osnaps and Filter glitch
For now it may help a little to save a Window layout (Window menu) with the setup as you like it and restore that when it goes south.

When the Osnap and SelectionFilter are both “docked” in two tabs to the left side (default), you can still make a tickmark next to Osnap in the container to the right (which show no tickmark next to Osnap even though Osnap is visible to the left). Is that the intended behaviour in 8?

And thanks @pascal. Another issue: right-clicking a selection filter no longer works. This should select only this filter, and deselect all other. Same behaviour as in Osnaps, where right-clicking still works.
Hi Duncan - right clicking does work as expected here. A right click sets the one filter, a second right click in the same checkbox reverts to the previous filter setting.

It does here too now. False alarm. Not sure how I managed to brick it earlier. I’ll try to document if I manage again.
Yes I would very much like to have these two menus visible at all times on top of each other just as I had in Rhino 8. This new layout is just more work to see and more work to adjust these filters. 90% of my workflow in Rhino is muscle memory so fixing things that aren’t broken in the first place is not necessary.
I would love to see this fixxed in the next update so I can revert back to my old layout that I’ve been working with for over 10 years .
