Rhino 8 - Object's Width?

I noticed there is this new setting in display modes in Rhino 8.

How do I control the width individually for each object?

You either assign an existing linetype or a custom linetype to objects.

Oh I see.

Shouldn’t this work like the printing widths though?

For extra flexibility I mean. Right now I have to create one line-type for each custom width.

Whereas with print widths it is unlimited.
