Simple curve in rhino 8. saved as 3dm. when i close the program by selecting the X, it freezes as if something is happening in the background. nothing is available or usable. the computer system continues to operate normally. windows 11 pro, 4tb ssd, 64gb ram, 15gb nvidia graphics.
any ideas or fixes?

There may be a pop-up panel asking if you want to save the file before closing which is hidden behind something. Try minimizing everything to find it. If you have dual monitors look on both screens.
Run the Rhino command SystemInfo and post the results.

very first thing i did was actually close all open windows and programs to see if that helped.

Well, a couple of things to try first -
Update your video drivers, they are nearly a year old. If that doesn’t help, then try temporarily disabling the two non-standard plug-ins Mesh Flatten and Exact Flat and see if that stops the behavior. If neither of those helps, then it’s time to look deeper I guess.
