Rhino 8 keeps Crashing when I update Dimension Arrow Style

So I was speaking to a representative on chat, and they recomended that I post my situation here. I am running Windows 10, Rhino 8, just installed Rhino yesterday. I am new to this specific software, so I was running through the tutorials to familiarize myself with the commands.
I ran into an issue during the dimensioning tutorial. I previously used AutoCAD so when I was applying a dimension that did not fit well, I went to properties to change the arrow type to make it look better. However, whenever I access the “arrowhead 1” drop down tab in properties and select another arrowhead style, the program freezes for a second then crashes.
While speaking to the representative, I did some more trial and error testing, and it seems to be only crashing with “arrowhead 1”. “Arrowhead 2”, changing the size or changing the style completely all seemed to work fine. No crashing. I also tested in different views and on a layout, and it crashed everytime i tried to change arrowhead 1.
I am going to be out of the office til Tuesday, but I will check back then and try to answer any questions i see then. My system info is pasted below, and I am going to try and attach the tutorial file i was working in and a screenshot. Thanks in advance for any advice! (I also did test in other files that were on my machine, same effect)
Thomas

please open rhino, then type systeminfo in the command line hit enter and send us the result.

@theoutside I had them also try Rhino 8.11 (same crashing), update NVIDIA driver, too. I couldn’t replicate the crash on my machine.

as a test try unplugging your 2nd monitor… any better?

does this happen on all files or just one/some?

do you have any imported blocks or hatches in the file?

your systeminfo from above was truncated, can you please post the entire report?

also are you using the nvidia studio ready driver or the game ready driver? which ever you are using, please try the other and install it custom/ advanced, and check the clean install box then finish the install.

I’ve seen a number of crashes reported lately for this exact issue. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to figure out how to repeat this crash.

This does not look to be graphics driver related.

If you have a 3dm file that exhibits this crash I would love to see it.

Thanks,
-Steve

So sorry the system info was truncated. i was away for the weekend and could not address it until today.

hope this helps someone with the issue. I did update my video card driver, and the issue was the same before and after. I have a file that it was doing this on, although it appears to be any file I open on my computer. I am trying to figure out how to add attachments to this post and will do so as I figure that out.
Thanks again everyone!

Hi Thomas -

Thanks for that file, I see that here as well and will write it up.
RH-83599 Properties: Crash When Changing Arrow Style
-wim

If it helps at all, that file was from your tutorial files within the software- at least that is the origin of that file in particular

We’re working on fixing this but in the meantime there is a workaround.

Double click on the dimension to open the Edit Dimension dialog box and change the arrows there instead of in the properties panel.

Thank-you, that workaround does appear to work for me in limited testing. Plus I learned something new! Thank-you for addressing this!
