Wondering if anyone knows of a solution to make the gumball extrude (Ctrl+Drag) not cap the extrusion by default. Rhino 6+7 didn’t do this, but rhino 8 now has the capping turned on, which for my workflow is kind of annoying.
Any way to toggle this? I haven’t been able to find it.
Just figured it out - in R8 holding control while clicking and dragging the gumball arrow will close the extrusion, while ctrl+click+drag the gumball circle (lower on the gumball arrow) will keep it open. Thanks for the response!
UPDATE: Never mind! I had a clipping plane on and was dragging the extrusion past the plane. With “Show Fills” checked in the Display Properties>Clipping Plane Settings

Have you figured out how to extrude both sides and keep the extrusion open?
For me, holding ctrl + shift + drag still closes the extrusion on both sides, which adds an extra step if I’m using the extrusion to intersect/trim some other geometry.
