Rhino 8 Beta not starting on EC2 although RHINO_TOKEN is present

Hi, when trying to start Rhino 8 Beta on EC2 I get this error message:

Seat-based licensing is not supported for your device.

I am sure that the token available in the environment variable RHINO_TOKEN is correct, because Rhino 7 can be started on the same EC2 instance. It seems that Rhino 8 for some reason does not use the token. Could there be sth that needs to be changed in the registry?

Before the error box appears, I can see that Rhino 8 is trying to fetch a license from cloud zoo.

@brian could you help here? I would so much like to start a system running Rhino 8 Beta

Has someone else succeeded in starting Rhino 8 Beta on EC2? We didn’t do anything special, just ran the installer, set the RHINO_TOKEN variable (like we do for Rhino 7), start it, and then the error pops up.

Hi Alex, I’ll need to do some remote controlling of your EC2 instance to help figure this out. Unfortunately, I’m travelling in Europe at the moment and won’t be very useful for another week. Perhaps we can touch base about this while we’re in Spain together next week?

Hi @brian, I am available for an online call to figure this out. Would it work for you sometime in the next days?

@brian sending a PM to you which includes a screencast.

Problem solved, I had missed that core-hour billing for Rhino 8 needs to be specifically enabled in the Rhino account.
