Rhino 7 workflow for importing a STL file and converting the mesh into NURBS

I want to practice using the Rhino 7 workflow for importing a STL file and converting the mesh into NURBS. Where can a find STL files so I can practice the Rhino 7 workflow?

You can always convert any existing model into a mesh/stl by simply doing Mesh → From NURBS Object

How you might go about doing that depends on just what you’re trying to do and why…and it’s something you don’t do unless you absolutely have to, so the only place to find useful STLs is from the client…

Rhino is not a dedicated reverse engineering tool.
While many people can and do use it for some reverse engineering tasks, its quite possible your need would be better suited to another application.

If you have objects that are more of a mechanical nature you could look at Mesh2Surface, a plugin that works within Rhino that can be purchased separately.
