Rhino 7 Trial Keeps Freezing Up My Entire Computer

Good morning,

I have the Rhino 7 Evaluation version on my Mac and recently it has started freezing up my entire computer and nothing can be done on my computer unless I do a hard reset and then I lose work on anything and everything else I had open. I’ve been using Rhino for years and this has never happened before. After restarting, when trying to use Rhino again, it won’t open. It just stays on the “initializing” page and doesn’t move on. At this point I’m not sure what to do because it takes a full 24 hours after this happens for me to even be able to get Rhino open.

Hello - can you please start Rhino and run the SystemInfo command, and copy/paste the results here?

Hello, I installed the latest service release and Rhino continues to still freeze my entire computer resulting in me having to hard restart my computer every time.

It looks like you’re trying to drive 2 monitors with an inadequate Intel GPU.
I assume you are using some sort of docking station to run the second monitor.

What happens if you run Rhino without the docking station or 2nd monitor?
Does the system freezing stop?

I am using 2 monitors. I have my Mac Book Pro and then a Dell Monitor that is connected to my laptop through an HDMI cord.

Once, I unplugged the monitor and only used Rhino on my laptop it did stop freezing. Please excuse me if I’m asking a dumb question, (Computers aren’t really my language) so in order for me to drive 2 monitors without Rhino crashing, my computer needs better Intel GPU?

If you need 2 monitors, you’ll need a new, more powerful Mac.
