Rhino 7 Mac Crashes When Shifting Light to Dark Mode

I am not sure if you are already aware of this, but every time Mac changes its mode from Light to Dark or vice versa, Rhino 7 crashes. I am using the most recent version of Rhino 7 on Macbook Pro 16 (Intel CPU) with Big Sur.

Thanks,

W

Hi @woojsung -

Yikes. That sounds bad.

Unfortunately, I’m not able to reproduce this here. I’m running macOS Big Sur ver 11.1 (20C69). Here are the steps I’m taking to attempt to reproduce this crash:

  1. Launch Rhino 7 for Mac (7.3.21039.11202) and start a new modeling window.
  2. In System Preferences > General, I click the Dark button and then the Light button.

Expected Behavior: macOS and Rhino for Mac switch to Dark mode and then back to Light mode.
Actual Behavior: same as expected.

What are we doing differently? Are we using different versions of Rhino for Mac or macOS?

This might be a case where it might be helpful to see your _SystemInfo. Can you please run that Rhino command and post the output here?

PS: Are you running macOS (or Rhino) in a language other than English?

Hi Dan,
This has gone after the most recent update. But now it has very strange bug to fix. Please see Distance entering/mouse click bug after update

Thanks,
