Rhino 7.0 performance issues

Hi ,

We have a customer that is drawing big Yachts and uses allot of big models. Rhino is not working very fast in these models its sluggish and hangs all the time when selecting different views.

I am by no means a engineer we only deliver the PC + software.

The models are around 1.8GB large.

These are the specs of the PC (systeminfo)

Is the RTX A2000 maybe not enough ?

I’m probably a little dim, but the driver listed in the spec is a game driver:

For the RTX A2000, would you require this driver instead, I think:

Probably best to wait for someone to confirm or rubbish my observation. I don’t know the subtle nature between the drivers.

have you tried the nvidia settings here?

I know you are on a desktop, but the settings are still valid.

also a 1.8gb file is quite large… why load the whole model as opposed to use worksessions or other file optimization techniques?

see info here- Worksession | Rhino 3-D modeling

Next to what @theoutside has suggested: Viewports can get slow when there are a lot of objects. In many cases the performance can be optimized significantly by combining stuff that is not ‘active’ geometry into single meshes (or surfaces into polysurfaces) and turning repeating objects into blocks. If your customer wants, I can have a look at the file to see what can be optimized. In that case send the file in question here. and link back to this thread. Files uploaded stay confidential.

Thank you all for your reactions , i was on a holiday so sorry to get back to you so late.

I will check the driver but I am sure i installed the quadro one but still need to look to be sure.

I will transfer the information to them about the viewports and stuff and will get back to everyone.
