Rhino 6 wont run on MacOS Tahoe v26!

I’m running Rhino 6 for Mac and just upgraded to Tahoe v26. When I start Rhino it says “Invalid MacOs Version: Rhinoceros requires macOS High Sierra (10.13) or later. You are running macOS 26.0.0.” Clearly 26 is later than 10.13 so this was untested. When will it be fixed?

Hi Clark,

Rhino 6 final service release was in 2021 and highest macOS it was officially built for was 11.7.6 (Big Sur). You’ll want to use the latest Rhino in Tahoe, or downgrade your OS to a supported or adequate version.

Damn. Well i guess I’ll have to upgrade… to IronCAD.

Hi Clark, The first i’ve heard of IronCad, do you know the cost? It doesn’t appear on their website.

Do note that this appears to be a windows only platform.

Your Rhino 6 license is valid and good for as long as you have compatible hardware. The ideal time to upgrade is when we release a new version and offer steep discounts for a few months (Rhino 9 is a ways out though)

updating Rhino once in a near decade might not match the brutal lust for updating your MacOs

Same issue with me. If Rhino doesn’t do the update, I believe we all have to switch to other platforms. Not worth upgrading to Rhino 8 or up in 2025.

Hi @sjlam,

The Mac operating systems supported by Rhino 6:

  • macOS 11.7.6 (Big Sur)
  • macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina)
  • macOS 10.14.6 (Mojave)
  • macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)

Unfortunately we don’t get any say in what Apple does with their OS releases…
