Rhino 6 Crashes when using Python

In Rhino Python Editor, the moment I open “Rhinoscriptsyntax” tab on the left it crashes. Also, It doesn’t pop-up commands after Typing “rs.”

Any idea how I can fix this problem?

Hello - do you have an installation of Iron Python on your system other than the one installed by Rhino?

-Pascal

Thanks for your reply,

No I only have Iron Python that is on rhino. Do I need to install any other one?

Hello - Rhino Python misbehaves if there is another Iron Python installed on the system, I thought that might be the case here - if not, don’t install another, that will likely make things worse.

@Alain - do you have an idea what might be happening? It looks like accessing rhinoscriptsyntax causes crashes for this user…

-Pascal

Hi,

Like Pascal says, don’t install another version.

Can you try this?
In the directory:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\Plug-ins\IronPython (814d908a-e25c-493d-97e9-ee3861957f49)\settings

There’s a file named version.txt. Can you try deleting it and restarting Rhino?

Thank you @Alain. I deleted “version.text” and restarted rhino. still have the same problem.

This is what I have in my apps, should I delete it?

Yes, that may fix your problem.
