Rhino 5 vs WIP difference for showing edges

I downloaded the scan/cleanup tutorial in www.rhino3d.com/resources/1056.
I followed the instructions to set up a display mode to show naked edges in a shaded view. The instructions are on page 4 of the pdf and are for “Shaded Mesh Editing”. The result for v5 matches the tutorial but the WIP won’t show the naked edges. What am I missing?

Hi Steve - make sure that the setting for Mesh Wires is checked in the Display panel, and you might set the mesh wireframe thickness to zero (in the main display mode controls in Options) so internal mesh edges do not draw.
