Request for clarification on Beta closing

@brian I think it would be helpful if you could provide a more detailed discussion of how this works for those of us who haven’t used an evaluation copy in years.

Service Releases fix bugs, improve stability, and add SDK features for programmers. We will release Service Release Candidates frequently so you can give feedback. You must have a valid license for Rhino in order to get Service Release Candidate builds. BETA releases will not update to release candidates.

Please remind me:

Does the evaluation version come with a (evaluation) license and does it allow installing the Service Release Candidates so that potential upgraders can evaluate the most recently available RC just before their 90 days are up? (Or the special early upgrade price expires in February?)

Finally:

For those users running an offline installation will you be publishing a link to the RC download page?

Thanks for clarifying these points.

The evaluation does indeed come with an evaluation license key. It expires in 90 days. After that point, you will either need to stop using Rhino 8, or purchase a license. You can save up to 33% off the upgrade price of Rhino starting today, through the upgrade promo period which ends February 27, 2024.

Release candidates can be downloaded from https://www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino/8/latest/rc
