my client spoke to me and said that in an airplane interior, he wanted to project effect movies onto the ceiling and luggage doors using projectors. Can I render that? For example by Bongo (Bongo video texture) and if possible by V-Ray. Or at least also only the Rhino renderer?
Atmospheric effects are not needed but I’m not sure it would work since decals are not self illuminating.
I found that the image sequence feature could do the job, but it’s not right working in GPU mode (I need the GPU mode because the complex interior is rendered to slow on my CPU, but I have a lot GPU power).
Particular it works. Since I need to render in September and not now maybe a hot fix could get it work.
I found:
sequence works for rectangular lights, but not the intensity control (workaround: diffuse multiplier works)
sequence doesn’t work for spotlights (texture ignored)
sequence doesn’t work for emissive and diffuse materials (texture ignored if sequence enabled)
It would be great if loading of the sequence images would work for all cases. Looks like the right images needs to be loaded only.
On the long run it would be great if simple video files could be set as texture and loaded frame by frame. Sounds like an easy task or?
Or at least could the bongo video texture not be supported for lights and materials?
No, it’s a sequence with “name 001.png” … . Should the .ifl help? The simple named sequence is working for rectangular lights.
…
I tried the .ifl file method now and it’s not working in GPU mode, only CPU mode.
So, we found that ifl or sequence are working in CPU mode, but only particular in GPU mode. I hope it can be fixed on the plugin side and no core fix is needed. What do you think?
