Rectangular light reflection on mirror, Rhino render

Hi,
Is there a way of not having a rectangular light plane visible on a mirror. I’m using Rhino 6 render.
I need to create round spotlights but the reflection is square. Can the planes be filleted or modified in any way.
Struggling with this one…
Thanks in advance.

try with a surface and apply emissive texture as a light source

Thank you, I have used a round surface with an emissive texture but with the rectangular light as the light source. Can the emissive texture strength be changed, I thought it just appeared as a light but doesn’t produce light.

the idea of emissive colors is to produce light and in any shape you wish. if its too weak just set it to 1.5 or experiment. that should render your rectangular light source obsolete.

I didn’t know you could adjust them, will give it a go tomorrow. Many thanks !

crank up the emissive material as high as you need.

FWIW, emissive material is in Rhino 7, not Rhino 6.

Correction, I made the material self illuminated. As nathan mentioned emmisive is not available with Rhino 6.
The self illuminated material does not appear on the reflective surface only the rectangular light.
So it looks like I need to upgrade to Rhino 7 which I was going to do in a few months, hopefully I can trial R7 in order to complete this job for a client.
Cheers guys.

you will love v7… the new rendering stuff alone is worth the $$
