Re: Recommended Computer for Rhino 6 Rendering & AutoCAD

Hi all, i want to seek for advise on advanced computer hardware requirement for using Rhino6 & AutoCAD of my company, we are using below specification and found not smooth (user report event slow) performance, thanks a lot.

Intel Xeon, Asus Z10PE-D16, E5-2630V4, 64GB DDR4 2133 ECC, Plextor 512GB SSD, Seagate 1TB, Quadro M4000 8GB DDR5, Asus 24x DVDRW, Win10 PRO Intel Xeon E5-2630V4, 64GB DDR4 2133 ECC, Plextor 512GB SSD, Seagate 1TB, Quadro M4000 8GB DDR5, Asus 24x DVDRW, Win10 PRO

Seem that Multi-Core Server grade CPU have no improvement for using Rhino

multi core won’t help rhino much, but it’ll make using rhino and other stuff at the same time nicer- Rhino does use CUDA cores for the new rendering system (cycles) so more vram and cores=faster rendering in raytraced mode. Depends on what you’re doing. Most current processors are more than up to the task for running rhino, video cards, I’d personally go quadro, and the bigger the better. Vram, cuda cores, and system Ram seem to be the best ways to spend money when building a rhino system.

others with more experience building may have different opinions.

I can contribute to this saying that an RTX 2080ti new and fresh with latest drivers wont give you that “humph” it suppose to be. Save some money and buy some previous model instead.
At least this is my opinion as i have build a new machine with one of those thinking that there is some big advance and smoothness when working some more complex models. And i only can feel when moving objects meshes. Just it.
