R7 file format increases file size by 30% with respect to R5 file format

Hello Forum,

I have a huge amount for files in Rhino 5 format which I’m now processing with Rhino 7. When saving as Rhino 7 (or Rhino 6) file format each file grows about 30% in size anything else being the same.

My question is: why does it happen and is there a way to avoid it?

Isn’t there a smaller format or geom only option in save as?

Yes, but I can’t use it. If I save as “geometries only” I would loose data such as user dictionaries which I use
