Quick access toolbar

can we get a quick access toolbar of sorts, so we can select components from various plugins and have them in this unused space?

Uhm , how about space?

Is it important that they’re available on that space? Because I’m not sure yet whether that toolbar will be added to Grasshopper 2.0 at all or in what particular form.

In my opinion re-organizing(1) the tabs makes more sense than having another toolbar down there.

(1) - by re-organizing I don’t mean adding and removing tabs, but rather drag-change the order in which they are displayed. Currently in GH1 it seems to be the order in which they are installed. Which is tough to work with when you just see a letter.

could go anywhere… i just have lots of plugins with 100s of components, but I only use 4-5 of them

that’s a common issue. I suggest you create user objects from the components you most use and add them to your own tab as different categories so you recognize them. Then use just that tab and ignore the others.

I suggest you to use Axon Widget, when you’ve been using it for a while, you’ll notice that it suggests the components you use the most (if you have it by frequency).
