Quantity upgrades and offline install

Hi there,

I have a good-sized company as a client that has bought 20 V8 upgrades, they want to install them in their LAN Zoo. They asked me the following questions:

Is there a way to mass-import the upgrades, or is it still one-by-one…?

However, what complicates the situation is that their Zoo server is completely offline. A single offline install is already pretty complicated. Do they have to do this 20 times?

Hi @Helvetosaur,

Yes.

Yes.

OK, ouch… Thanks Dale…

Your regional Sales office may have an option to combine single Commercial licenses into multiple commercial licenses, much like how a 30-user Lab licenses work. Add one key and 30 licenses populate the LAN Zoo or CZ Team.

I do not remember how many Commercial licenses are combined into one key; and it’s some work to change them, but it would cut this effort way down for next time.

Yeah, the complicated part is that these are upgrade licenses and there is probably a different upgrade path for each license, some going back as far as V4 maybe… Plus it’s all offline.

Aye, it’s not easy. If they don’t need access to the retired Rhino versions, then it is less difficult, but for companies with lots of licenses, it’s a big help.
If I remember correctly, the minimum number of surrendered licenses when this was started was set at 50. I sort of recall the number is less now, but still significant.

I think you can have 10 or 50 or 100…

It sounds like it might be worth the effort for them.
