Project, Trim, Split not working acuurate

Hi, I am having trouble with the accuracy when trimming a surface.

At first I tried projecting the highlighted line straight onto the surface then trim, but results in a non-straight cut shown in second image.

I’ve also tried trimming the surface directly using the line from the front view, splitting using two extruded surfaces, creating intersection lines from the two surfaces, but have the same problem.

I have the absolute tolerance set at .0001 and mesh quality to smooth and slow.

Is there anything I can do to simply cut the surface straight with the curve?

Thanks.

Hello - please post a file with the curve and the untrimmed object.

Hello Pascal, sorry about that.

Please see the attached file.

Thanks.

Hello - this is what I get projecting and trimming (red curve) from the Front view - is that what you expect?

Pascal,

Exactly! but like in the image attached, the projected curve / trimmed edge does not come out clean when you look at it close up.

Hello - if you zoom in far enough in any view, eventually you will see discrepancies - the real question is, are the curves within tolerance?

if you zoom in that far and then use Distance to measure two points across the width of your display, I expect you will see something like
Distance = 0.0000000 millimeters

Understood, was just wondering if I was doing anything wrong.
It should be ok if it’s just a presentation issue.

Thank you for the help!!
