Project and Pull Curve + Loose Option

Hello All,

Is there any possibility to add the loose option on these commands? It would be super useful to keep the degree and count of a curve, without any rebuild.

Hi @Aaron_Borin,

The Rhino SDK does not expose this option to the functions made available to Grasshopper. I’ve logged a wish for this.

As this is a fair amount of work, don’t expect to see this until something during the Rhino 8 release.

Hi Dale,

is it possible to add the “loose” option to the grasshopper components for “Project curve” and “Pull Curve”?

Currently there is no way to control CV and span count and the results are very unpredictable. A “loose” option would solve this.

If possible a “deviation output” would also be great, to check the results.

The release target for the issue is 8.x, or sometime during the Rhino 8 development cycle.

It will take a couple of hours to implement; I’ll try to find some free time soon.

@Cadworx has said that “strict company policy” prevents him from posting “data” (including GH code), so he is a taker here, not a giver. I’m surprised he has lasted so long on this forum.

thank you for your support on this matter.

Unfortunately I am not in a position to hand out any company data and have to get permission first.

I work in the automotive industry and we operate under information security certification requirements. Handing out any data needs permission and documentation.

I understand that this gives the impression of me being a taker and I am really sorry for that.

If my input is not wanted around here, please let me know.

RH-74131 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 17
