Hello, I’m havin some troubles with the render view.
This is a closed polysurface generated with a simple loft between two circles and than offset surface. Also the loft has the same aspect. I don’t know why Rhino doesn’t smooth the preview.

Hello - it looks like either the viewport is set to ‘Flat Shade’ or the current display mode is -

Hi Pascal! Thanks for the answer!
I checked what you said but the option Flat Shade was not active…
I thought could have been the file because I downloaded it from the internet but also in a new one the same problem.
Yesterday I made the upload of Rhino…Do you think could it be the problem? Because I never had this kind of visualization.
Hi Alessio - there are two places this could be set - see also my second image for an individual display mode setting.
-Pascal
So yes I think that’s the problem…But when I deactivate it in the setting menu and I press ok to save the change nothing change. If I open the settings again the Flat Shade option is again active. That’s weird!
Hi Alessio – that is weird - is only one session of Rhino open? Try closing all Rhinos and start one new session and make the change…? Does the Shaded mode do the same, or only Rendered?
-Pascal
Bad news… I also tried to restart my computer and open a new file but nothing. In the shade mode the option is not checked but… I don’t know if it’s me that I see now all with the same problem but also if looks smoother I still can see some edges in the shade mode too…
Hi Alessio - The shaded image you just posted looks correct; the Flat Shade setting not being permanent in Rendered is what I’d like to track down - is this a mode you imported from V5, or is it Rhino V6 default Rendered with some changes? Can you post the results from Help > System information?
-Pascal
No it should be all as a default. I don’t remember I ever did any change to the render mode…

Hi Alessio - click on Restore Defaults for the Rendered mode - does that sort it out? You might want to update both of your video drivers, btw - they are getting a little old.
