Problem with object grips

Hi all! So, I’m completely new to using Rhino having only started learning the program about a week ago now. Normally I try to trouble-shoot my issue with a program before I ask for help, but somehow during that time I managed to do something (I have no idea what) that has turned off my grip options (sorry for the illustrator terminology) when I select an object (any object, from a simple line to a 3D shape). I was able to manage without it for a little while, but it’s becoming a problem now that we are beginning to move on to creating complex, precise shapes. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Cheers!

Hi -

By default, the option to turn on control points when selecting a curve, light, or annotation is turned ON. You might have turned this off somehow.

Note that this does not apply to “3D shapes”. While a curve can be a 3D shape, I take it that you refer to (poly)surfaces. The points of a single surface can be turned on with the PointsOn command; for polysurfaces, you need SolidPtOn.

Thank you so much for this information. How do I find that option dialogue box? Is it under Options?

Hi -

Yes, under Options > Mouse - my screenshot is from the Mac version but the Windows version is similar.
