Problem with importing obj files

It seems that imput geometry component can’t read obj files that are created in software different from Rhino.

I wanted to import 3ds max geometry and I created simple obj file in Autodesk 3ds Max and after adding it via ShapeDiver viewer I received message “There is no geometry that can be displayed in the scene”. The same obj file works in Rhino and Grasshopper.
Here is the obj file created in 3ds max.
test55.obj (3.9 KB)
And here is the viewer and grasshopper code so you can try to recreate problem ShapeDiver
mesh_test.gh (6.0 KB)

The Import Geometry component for Rhino 6 is relying on an really old algorithm which we had to develop before the headless importers were added to Rhino 7. As a result, it might fail for different flavors of obj.

We are not maintaining anymore the Rhino 6 importing algorithm, therefore the only option here would be to switch to Rhino 7/8 and the Rhino 7/8 ShapeDiver servers. You can upgrade to Rhino 7 with your current subscription if you are interested.

Thanks for the response.

Yes I would like to upgrade to Rhino7 with current subscription, but I can not see that I can choose Rhino7 server with my PRO subscription.

How to upgrade to Rhino7 with PRO subscription?

Thanks in advanced

Our team should be in contact with you and help you with the upgrade.

Ok, thanks!
