Point style for point objects - any way to revert to square unfilled points?

I don’t much like V6’s obtrusive circular filled white dots as used for point objects.

Is there a way to revert to the square unfilled point style of v5 and earlier?

I found an old table of “PointStyle enumeration” here, suggesting it is possible: https://developer.rhino3d.com/api/RhinoCommon/html/T_Rhino_Display_PointStyle.htm
but the PointStyle command doesn’t work in the command-line interface.

This is now done per display mode. In Options>View>Display modes, each mode has an entry for point style, you can change the size, style round or square, and filled or not.
