Please remember position and size of the Toolbar dialog box

I noticed that when the toolbar command opens the All RUIs dialog, it always opens centered within the Rhino window and always at the same size. After that, I can resize and move the dialog, and the child dialogs, such as All Toolbars and Toolbar, open within the same parent dialog/window and therefore keep the same position and size.

However, when I use Right-click → Properties…, the Toolbar dialog opens directly, but it always appears in the top-left corner of the screen and always at a small size.

I work on a 43-inch monitor and mostly access this dialog through the Properties context menu, so it is frustrating to have the Toolbar dialog open in the corner every time and then have to move and resize it manually.

My main request is that Rhino remember the last size and position of the Toolbar dialog when it is opened.

More broadly, I think the behavior should be consistent across dialogs. One possible approach would be:

• Dialogs should initially open centered within Rhino’s main window.

• The All RUIs dialog already does this.

• The Toolbar dialog does not.

• Dialogs should remember their last position and size while Rhino is running.

Another alternative would be to remember dialog position and size across Rhino sessions. Other CAD applications do this, and the advantage is that dialogs stay where I like them, just like panels and toolbars. The downside is that things can get messy when changing monitor size, monitor resolution, or monitor position.

This is no longer the behavior I’m seeing. The Toolbar command now opens the All RUIs dialog in the same position where it was last closed.

This has also changed, but only partially. After the first time I open and close the Toolbar dialog, the next time it opens with the same X position and size as before. However, its Y position is still reset to the top of the monitor.

Since both issues are related to UI state/settings, I thought I should also mention one thing that happened between my original post and now: I reported this other issue about dark UI colors not working correctly:

In that thread, @Gijs asked me to run _Reset, save settings for support, and send him the resulting Settings.zip. I sent it to him, and he sent me back another Settings.zip that fixed the dark color issue.

I’m not sure whether that is related to the toolbar dialog behavior changing, but I wanted to mention it in case the settings ZIP exchange is relevant.

I just checked on another computer and the behavior is the same: Right-click -> Property does remember X position and size, but always starts with Y at the top of the monitor.
