Plan Views of VA Stairs show step numbers/lines even for occluded steps

As the title suggests, Plan Views of VA Stairs show step numbers/lines even for occluded steps.
Are there any options that will hide step numbers and stair centerlines for steps/stairs that are occluded, by slabs or other stairs? Because what we get now is a mess that always needs manual cleanup.

This is especially needed for consequent staircases that are different, due to space requirements or floor height difference. In exactly same, duplicate stairs, the problem persists (and we get duplicate lines and numbers), but it is not visually distracting.

The issue should be solved in either live plan views or applied drawings of plan views.

See image below, desired output, on the right.

Have tried much to find a solution, to no avail, Any thoughts?

Hi @flatform thanks for reporting this issue. I hope we can fix it soon. Unfortunately, there is no other workaround than hiding the step numbers in the stair style settings:

Or in the case of 2D Plan views, explode the block and delete the numbers manually.

Thank you, this can be done, yes. But it does not fix the occluded lines showing though, which can be different in the lower staircases.

It would be interesting to have options to show the occluded lines or numbers with “overhead” options, something like “underhead”.

This can be also helpful in ie. seeing beams under slabs, and so on. It should have separate line and visibility options than the “overhead”.

Thank you for the reply.

Hi @flatform We have managed to fix the issue with the occluded steps numbers in a new minor update. You can download it here: http://visualarq.s3.amazonaws.com/download/visualarq-2.13.1.17182-rhino7-setup-snapshot.msi

I agree. We need to study how to achieve this in future versions.

Thank you for the VAStairs Plan View visibility fix.

It seems to work without issues. Both Numbers and Stair Center line are not visible when occluded by other objects (Slabs etc.)

There is an issue i think. Viewport Plan View looks ok.

But applied Plan Views have the same issues. Either if they are created after the update or not.

I think the same corrections need to be added in the VAPlanView commands.

See below:

Hi @flatform,

I see the problem. I’ll report it to find a solution.

Hi @flatform I let you know that VisualARQ 3 fixes this problem of stair numbers remaining visible for hidden steps.
