Pen Mode: Ground Flickers in Scene

When in Pen Mode, if I ‘Select All’ and try and rotate the scene the Ground (?) flickers into the scene as a dark grey plane. When you deselect, this grey plan disappears. Please see the example here:

Note that this also occurs when all the layers are are set to visibility ‘off’ (so nothing showing). In that case, the grey ground plane appears and does not go away until a layer with surface geometry is turned ‘on’ (turning on layers with only curves does not cause the grey ground to disappear).

Are you sure you exported the correct display mode? What I see is Shaded - Render Material, and there is no groundplane

I am not seeing that issue you have here in 8.14
but I can reproduce in 8.13
