Pausing the rendering

Another question about Rhino Render. Once a rendering is in the works, it seems to freeze the program and you cannot do anything else while it’s rendering. Is there any way to pause the rendering, make a change in the geometry, or lighting and then restart and continue? When I hit the Pause button, it does pause, but when I try to click in any of the viewports to work on the geometry I get the “Cannot be done” bell. What is the point of pausing, friends, if you can’t do anything? :slightly_smiling_face:

Also, why is it that you cannot stop a rendering and save it out before it’s gone up to its prespecified samples?

use raytrace mode if you need to interact with the render- the standalone window does hijack the system until it’s finished.

Kyle, what’s the point of pausing the render if you can’t do anything any way?

you can add/ remove post effects and see their effect on the final image. I don’t find it terribly useful myself, which is why I almost always work in raytrace mode.
