Panel Custom 3D question

I have made some grids (points) with ptGrid. the top group of points I moved them pulled back to the surface to have it align better with the point grid on the bottom surface. When I ran Panel Custom 3d with my custom poly surface, the new surfaces went askew like a bad loft when you have to run align curves. So anyway to align pot grid?

I have duplicated border to give me the bottom hex, extracted the top surfaces and then deleted the rest of each surface. i know will loft each curve up to the remaining surface manually.

I am just wondering if there is something I can do in the future.

Hi @rhinorudi

Looks like the UV direction of top and bottom surfaces does not match. You can see that it is morphing a bottom unit grid with the other end of the top unit grid. There are 2 ways to resolve it:

1- Create the grid on surfaces that match (you can use Dir command to change UV direction of a surface then create the grid. (you can always quickly test that top and bottom grids align if you run ptPanel3D with simple Box pattern and see if it comes our right)
2- If you already have the grids (not surfaces to rebuild), there is the ptGridDir command, that can help redirect the grid .

Let me know if this helps, otherwise please share the document (.3dm) and I can have closer look.

Hi @rajaa , I thought I did this before doing the point grid. Pascal helped me do that!

I think that is what I was looking for. This will help for the next one.

here’s where I am now, almost done …
