Offset Curve on Surface – Incorrect result

Hi there!

I’m new to the forum but an old Rhino user (well, I started with Rhino 5 or 6 during my studies).

I’m trying to offset some curves on a sphere, which sometimes gives unexpected and uncorrect results:

For your information here you see the process.
The curves are intersections of a 3d voronoi volume with the sphere. Both were created in Grasshopper, but it also happens when the sphere is created in Rhino directly.

Some of them work correctly, but as shown, some don’t.

Funny thing: When the offset is rather small, it tends to work without a problem.

Can you help me or show me an alternative way of doing it?
Thanks!

Kind regards
Sebastian

I can reproduce it. Looks like it goes back to at least V4.

A fundamental error like this needs to be investigated and fixed.
