I’ve encountered a very strange bug… objects exist, but can’t be selected, seen or edited in anyway. And I’ve tried everthing… I mean everything. I was working in a large file, with other files worksessioned into it, and using a combination of layer states, hide and isolate to control visibility. I went through some diagonstics (with help from Claude)…
Some objects in the file become permanently invisible and unselectable. The symptoms are:
-
Objects exist in the document —
doc.Objects.Countreports them, layer deletion warns about objects on the layer, and a Grasshopper Geometry Pipeline component can access their geometry -
All object attributes appear completely normal —
ModeisNormal,VisibleisTrue,ViewportIdis empty, layers are on and unlocked,IsHiddenandIsLockedare bothFalse -
_Show,_Unisolate,_SelAllfind nothing -
IsSelectable()returnsFalsewith no attributable cause -
The condition survives SaveAs to a new file
-
Opening in Rhino 9 WIP does not resolve it
