Hi,
i have a question/proposal to make.
every time i have to create a quick custom material in order to make some image for product presentation i end using lots of grey scale colours, this colours are located at the end of the color list and they smoothy transate from very light grey to full black.
i often need to use different grey grade to distinguish the different objects in the assembly and most of the time the the grey degree must be very close and in my opinion it would be very useful to have a progressive number on the color list.
This would allow me to pick different color with no room for mistale…in short i think that rather than adding color name only to some of the color in the list it would be much safer to add a progressive number from 0 to 255 or whatever it is. does it make sense ?
It’s not too hard to make a toolbar that has a bunch of your favorite preset colors so you don’t have to go through the color picker every time.
There are allways the old ColorSwatch v4 toolbars link
Hi, yes this is probably more efficent way to manage materials but i still think that my proposal would improve readibility without need to make customized toolbar.
The point is that , as i said , i end using grey grade very close one another and a index number is a index nr ( no trrom for mistakes ) while if you rely on color appearance its sometime tricky.
Hi and thanks for your suggestion , i didn’t know about this addon , it looks very handy , that said i think my suggestion would improve rhino in general independently from the functionality added by your suggested plugin
in addition to this i also believe that preset color should be highlighted when you select an object.
Right now the pointers are upgraded real time on the colors wheel for selected objets but the color is not highlighted in the color list thus making it hard to undestand which color you are using , escpecially in the case of grey scale colors
