No panels in right side bar

just updated WIP on mac and no side panels for properties etc are showing, only the icons on toolbar. object is selected but if I click on properties, materials etc nothing shows…right side bar is on but just a 5mm strip without panels.

What happens when you run the WindowLayout command and restore the “Default” layout?

Yes I did that but it still didn’t work until I set everything in the WIP to default…strange because it has been working for ages with all my settings….anyway, thanks for the advice……will have to remember how to get my custom displays back now
Is there a way to send the custom displays from & to WIP without having to add them individually ?

Well… We were a bit too quick with that one - see:

All preferences wiped out -- 8.0.23220.12306, 2023-08-08

We didn’t do a good job communicating about this. We’re hoping to obsolete the ~/Library/Preferences/com.mcneel.rhinoceros.8.plist in favor of storing everything in ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/... xml settings files. I don’t think we tested the migration path properly.

You should be able to use ExportPreferences in Rhino 7, then use OptionsImport in the WIP and check the section that you need.

7 to 8 worked well…better than trying the com.mcneel.rhinoceros.8.plist solution from the old WIP version…the latter didn’t bring back the custom displays but importing from 7 did.
