New UI: I would describe it as "fragile"

I like the concept of containers, but the present iteration doesn’t seem practical for the users. Take a look at how easy it is to accidentally shift tabs around, and how difficult it is to put them back.

Our Rhino users do not work slow and methodically. They move at a fast pace. Just the slightest twinge of the mouse over the tab and it shifts position and is very difficult to put back. If they are constantly moving to different positions (or undocking) then the whole concept of “muscle memory” goes out the window.

I would like to see a tool to lock down the UI. “Lock docked containers” is a start, but it’s not enough. The video above has the “Lock docked containers” checked on.

Hi Dan - yes, agreed, some of that stuff is a notch too volatile still.

This is a bug that was introduced when the “Horizontal” tabs on the side were added. Set the tab location to vertical and it works correctly. I logged RH-70177 so this can get fixed.
