NamedSelection for objects inside blocks

I wonder how this works.

I selected 2 faces of a brep inside a block. Saved it as Selection01. It even shows 2 brepfaces are saved in namedselection window but doubleclicking on it doesnot select/display/highlight the saved items in any way.

For me expected behaviour would be to display highlighted faces of the brep in all instances of a block. If i ran commad Area i would expect to get two values Cummulative area within instance and Cummulative area in total considering all the instances.

How should it be in eyes of rhino developers? I just dont see this (current state) as satisfactory

If I understand you correctly, I think you are trying to record a definition then block it and copy it a bunch of times…

That currently won’t work because each selection is linked to a unique object ID.
