Moving multiple curves with 'movecrv

Hi forum, I’m sure this is a stupid question but I’m in need of some help!

I’ve recently jumped from Rhino 4 (don’t judge) to Rhino 7 (yowza) and I’m can’t work out why I can’t move multiple curves with the ‘movecrv’ function. In rhino 4 I could just select multiple segments but now I’m only able to select a single crv/‘segment’ in a polycurve to move. Can anyone help me please, I must be missing something as it was so easy and useful before…?

Thanks!

What language are you programming or scripting in? Do you have some sample code you can share that doesn’t work for you?

Hi Dale! Thanks for your reply - I’m talking about simply typing in ‘movecrv’ in the Rhino Command bar (much like ‘moveedge’ for polysurfaces, where I can select and move multiple edges in sync, but the same isn’t possible with ‘movecrv’). Please see below screenshots that hopefully explain…

I hope that makes sense, let me know if I’ve missing anything.

Thanks again!

@rajaa - can you help with a question on the MoveCrv command?

Note you can sub-object select (Ctrl-Shift select) a curve segment in V7 and use Move.

-Pascal

I added a request for multiple segment selection in MoveCrv command here…
But as Pascal mentioned, after Rhino 4, it was made very easy to select subobjects (curve-segments, edges, faces, etc.) and transform using Gumball or regular Rhino commands such as Move, Scale, etc.
To sub-object select, you need to have Shift+Ctrl keys down when selecting. I hope this helps.

Thanks Pascal! I knew there was a simple solution I didn’t know of

Thanks Rajaa, a real help - this is going to make things much easier! have a great 2021
