Modeling techniques to replicate wood decking?

Hi, I am fairly new here so forgive me if my phrasing is off.

What i want to know is if there is a way to use grasshopper in order to replicate wood decking or wood joists. Instead of having to create these members one by one in rhino.

Trying to save time so any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Make a closed curve (like a rectangle) that is the dimension of your deck plank or joist. Do this in the YZ plane, not the default XY plane.
  2. Extrude the curve along in the X direction a distance equal to the length of your plank or joist.
  3. Cap the ends of the extrusion.
  4. Make a linear array of the capped extrusion in the Y direction. The linear array component lets you specify the number and spacing, so use sliders for these values so you can easily change them.
