Hello there,
I want to assemble a model made out of trusses and beams. The first picture shows the beams which should be continuous. The second picture shows all the elements that should be trusses. The third picture shows the supports which should “hold the model on the ground”.
Unfortunately it seems like I made a mistake because the “assemble model” component doesn´t work.
I tried many things, but I can´t find the solution. I tried with the example files from the karamba3d website but even with the files I can´t find a solution. Maybe someone can help me.

Also, double check that all your curves are split at their intersections, otherwise the calculation will not work. Check our videos (Debugging Models) for tips
Hey, first of all thanks for the answer!
One of my problems seemed to be the lines not being split at their intersections like you said. They now should be (picture 1). For some mysterious reason some of the lines are being split where no intersection is (picture 2). Is that even a problem or can I just leave it like that?
And another question all of the lines are now put in as beams (picture 3). The lines which should be trusses I now put into the joint component. But if I disconnect the lines there is no change seen in the model view. So that means that the lines are not being “noticed”. How can I define which elements should have joints? I have looked at the tutorial file Beam_Joint_onGrid, but that seems to define only one element to have joints if I´m not mistaken.
the split in the curves do not have any affect if joints are not applied - however you should not split the elements if you intend to make truss elements or release joints at their ends. Make sure that all your elements are Lines and not curves so that the splitting does not occur in the LineToBeam component.
Once again, thank you first!
I tried it now by splitting the lines which should be beams at all the intersecting points with all the other lines in the model. (Picture 1 and 2)
The lines which should have joints I splitted in the same way. (Picture 3) I then made them also beams and just added the joint component to them. (Picture 4)
It seems to work now or am I wrong?
Sorry if i misunderstand something, english is not my first language.

if you are applying releases in Rx and Ry on all elements then your structure is kinematic as they can freely rotate. You need to triangulate everything
