Missing Lines on Section drawing

Hi,

Im trying to learn section drawings based on this Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uid5bAdbgg , his section shows the hatched area that is on the clipping plane and single lines for objects beyond the clipping line, when i try to replicate this my 2D drawing only shows the hatched element.
Is there a line or visibility option i need to turn on.
