Microsoft security updates disrupting Rhino 8

I am wondering how other rhino users are managing the disruption caused by the windows 10 updates?

I do not have the processor to update to 11. I wish I didn’t have to drop 3K on another system. I like my Dell but I am open to suggestions for other brands that are as reliable and supportive that may also cost less.

Hi Paul. There really isn’t a definitive pattern of which machines get affected by the Windows updates. In the big picture of active users, the percentage having issues is really, really small.

I typically recommend last year’s model Lenovo with an RTX card, something around 1400 bucks.

Thanks for the recommendation. How much RAM and storage are you getting with that?

I spoke to someone at McNeel about the update problem who knew about the issue. I uninstalled the update, that went in in January, and the problem went away. If you can’t upgrade to 11 then those updates are important and microsoft keeps installing it again. I don’t want to go the route of third party software to work around the OS issue.
