Measuring length and angle on slanted surfaces

Hello All,

My question is about measuring the lengths, angles (between two slanted surfaces), and anlyzing the relative positions between these trimmed surfaces. Since both surfaces are slanted there is no chance view their edges perpendicular in views Rhino provides. Orienting view to the surface may be the solution but I still could not find any way to do it even though I checked this forum.

Best regards.

have you got an image of the situation, better even a file? one idea without seeing anything would be to position a plane perpendicular to the normal of the angle you want to measure, then intersect with your geometry and measure it with angle.

Hello,

Attached image is a good example. How can you adjust your plane perpendicular to the normal of the angle you want to measure?

use the command

angle

start where the blue curve meets the red with snaps set to midpoint and for each curve click on the outside of either colored curve to receive your resulting angle

For planar surfaces, you can just pick 2 surfaces and use analyze/angle

or measure all at once :

what is that?
