Making objects behind an active clipping plane cast shadows

I want to see how light is entering a space I have modelled by viewing it with a section cut through it. The problem is, the clipping plane affects how shadows are cast, so this is useless. Is there a way I can make it so that objects behind a clipping plane cast shadows on objects in front of it? The light needs to act as if the clipping plane doesn’t exist, but I still need the clipping plane so that I can see inside.

For any kind of architectural modelling this is an essential thing to be able to do.

I’m using Rhino 8 by the way.

Hi Noah -

We have that request on the list → RH-75825 Clipping plane should allow to affect geometry but not lighting
Thanks,

I’d really like to be able to do this.
I think the alternative ( the current way it works) will prove important to retain also.
