In the viewport, when Raytraced mode is on, I always get a pixelated result, regardless of the settings. I have also attached a screenshot showing the rendering settings.
Possible solutions?
Device: MacBook Air M4, MacOS 15.3.
Rhino version: Version 8 (8.24.25281.15002, 2025-10-08)
This problem has been resolved by increasing the ‘Sharpness’ parameter in the Rhino rendering settings. The issue with this setting is that its purpose is unclear. Typically, ‘sharpness’ refers to increasing the contrast between the edges of objects in an image, rather than to pixel resolution for rendering in the viewport.
Please consider changing the wording and adding numerical parameters for this setting.
I am just reaching out to you as it seems you use a MacBook Air for architecture and rendering like I intend to and I wanted to seek some guidance from you before I ordered my machine. I’m thinking about buying an M5 MacBook Air 15” 512ssd and im still deciding on the RAM as it has serious cost implications on the rig (base model as you know is 16GB)
I use it for architecture and my file sizes are usually 1-200mb although they can get up to 4-500mb in extreme cases. I don’t like navigating in wire frame and typically use rendered mode.
I rarely render on the machine although I was thinking about getting Enscape for Mac to navigate the models in rendered mode.
Could you share your experience and any limitation you’ve had to deal with so I better understand what I’m getting myself into?
