Rhino8 has crashed so hard on Win10 ( said something like geometry invalid ) it even went for a full system bluescreen - and even the bluescreen hasn’t run to 100%, the full computer had to be turned back on with hard-reset.
It has crashed before, but not this hard. This time the recovery file did not contained the last two days of modelling even if the date of saving was not that far.
All personal settings are gone and personal and installed display-modes too.
Can I make some kind of a restore file or save of the full UI, Settings, etc. for the future if this kind of event reoccurs? I tried to open older saves too, but the settings and display-modes are missing there too.
The config is not that new, but has adequate power to my tasks, and works flawlessly most of the time.
It is very unlikely that Rhino causes a blue screen type crash. It is worth investigating this further. It can be your display drivers or even a hardware failure.
Pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results.
All your settings are saved in %appdata%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\settings\
You can backup this folder with _Reset and hitting the “Save settings for support” button.
