Load-case combination rules _ [Unspecified]

Hello!

I’m trying to combine different loads using the load-case combination rules, but I have two problems:

1.No matter how I change the rule, the outcome message shows [Unspecified], even when checking the example file from Karamba, I get the same message. Does this affect the rest of the definition? How can it be solved? I’m sure I’m using the same names in my load definition than in the rule.

2. When trying a simple rule: LC0+LC1 (adding gravity and snow) I can see that my max displacement and compression values are less in the added case, than in the snow case.

If I set the same name for the two load cases I do have a bigger value, but not when I am using the load-case combination rule. I’m not sure ifusing different load values for my snow is changing how the data is being processed.

Any tip on how to solve these problems?

I leave a screenshot of how I am combining the loads, and the max displacement shown after calculation. (When all loads have the same name the displacement goes up to 28)

Thank you in advance for the help!

  1. The “Unspecified” refers to the Load Case Properties, and in this case it has no affect on the calculation - this important when you want to export your loadcases/combinations to SAF format: 3.2.5.4 Load-Case Properties | Karamba3D v3, or for future developments in code checking
  2. could you please share your script because it is difficult to troubleshoot just based on screenshots.

Hello Matthew,

Thank you for your answer,

Hi @Maria_Ilwikal_Verhul,

Regarding the maximum displacements: the linear elastic analysis correctly predicts a larger displacement for the combined snow and dead load case than for the dead load case alone. The issue arises in the dynamic relaxation procedure, which did not converge for the combined load case.

Sorry, the geometric nonlinear calculation in Karamba3D is still work in progress. It will be improved in the future.
