Line weights and scale

Hey guys, further to this (what’s happened is I’ve moved from my Laptop to a work supplied computer and the visual settings are all wrong… import options didn’t help).

Can you tell me where the setting is to match monitor view settings with print settings… what I mean is the (eg) dashed line on screen looks normal but when printed the scale is wrong, it’s more of a broken line rather than a dashed line.

Line width in print options isn’t scaled.
No scaling applied in annotation styles.

I DID have a problem with line weights, they looked way too thick in comparison with what I was seeing on my laptop, and I found this script on the forums (testWireThicknessScale Enabled=On Scale=.6 Enter), and I’ve got this running when Rhino opens… I’d prefer a better solution to the line weight issues as well, there’s talk about it in forums but I can’t find the definitive answer.

All up it’s all out of whack and not the same as the laptop and I can’t figure out why.

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks.

I’ve just noticed the ‘match viewport display’ in print dialogue box wasn’t selected, that part is resolved.

Hi Steve - please start a new thread when asking a different question.

Could you explain a bit more what the problem is with the line weights? Is this viewport or print?
Can you show images of the difference between the laptop and the work PC?

Hi Wim, thanks for getting back to me.
It’s hard to show a comparison on the line weight issue but I can show the below to better explain.
You can see the surface edges and isocurces are quick a thick line weight and quite pixelated on the diagonal lines. I’ve resolved it a bit better since this using the script as mentioned but is there another way? My laptop had much better line quality I have not been able to replicate on the PC.

I just came across another example, notice the leader and dimension line is visually thicker than the curves. How do I get them the same?

Hi Steve - could you please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and past the result here?
Thanks!

Yeah mate here it is…

Hi Steve - in terms of GPU drivers, your version is from the stone age (-;.
Please open the Notifications panel in Rhino. You should see a “NVidia Video Driver Update Recommended” notification there. Click on Details and follow the links. You should be able to find an updated driver for your card. Please let us know if that helps!

Hi Wim, thanks for that, IT have now updated the driver and it seems to have fixed my picking issue slightly (cursor over an object but selects something close to it rather than the object - I think the other forum topic) but there hasn’t been a visual change to the line weights.

They’re not too bad with the start up script running, without it I presume the lines would all look like the dim line below or thicker. It would be good to be able to adjust line weights to personal preference, I know they can be adjusted for printing but not visual display?

I want thin line weights across the board, is there a setting I can adjust… that’s the question.
