Licence Validation

I’ve just updated Rhino to the latest version (5.3.2) and I’m having trouble getting license validation. When I check Rhino’s preferences it tells me that the program is obtaining the license from the license manager.

It sounds like you have tried changing your license via Preferences. Can you send a screenshot of the screen that is getting stuck?

Hi Dan!

I can’t send you a screenshot because I had to apply for the 90 days
Rhinoceros’ trial (I had to finish modeling some pieces asap), but the only
thing I did was to download the newest version. Everything went great (with
the installation) until I reopened the program and it was asking for a
license.

Best regards,

Ignacio

The license file that Rhino uses is stored in:

/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/License Manager/Licenses

If you are unable to change licenses using Rhino’s interface in Preferences > Licenses, which sounds like the case, you may want to try moving the license to the Desktop and try starting from scratch using your license key.

Try this…

  1. Quit Rhino if you have it open.
  2. In Finder, navigate to Finder > Go > Go to Folder… > and then enter in: /Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/License Manager/Licenses
This will open a Finder window the license folder.
  3. Drag whatever .lic file is currently in that folder to the Desktop.
  4. Launch Rhino for Mac. Rhino should act as if you do not have a license. Enter in your license key.

Does that help?
